Time of My Life by Alan Ayckbourn
Dixon Studio, Palace Theatre, Westcliff-on-Sea. Tues 20th - Sat 24th September 2011 at 7.45 pm, with Matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 3.00 pm. Review Cast & crew details Gerry Stratton has organized a small family dinner with his sons Glyn and Adam at his favourite restaurant to celebrate his wife Laura's birthday. Glyn is with his long-suffering wife Stephanie, and Adam has brought along his new girlfriend Maureen who is eager to impress.
As the party breaks up, the action splits and moves both backwards and forwards in time, allowing past, present and future to simultaneously interweave. Glyn and Stephanie travel into their fractured future while Adam and Maureen travel back to a calamitous first meeting. Gerry and Laura stay in the present making their own discoveries, mostly unwelcome ones... "... funny, very funny, and not at all funny: quintessentially Ayckbourn." The Times |
